ANTONNY DREW

zouk, kompa

Antonny Drew is a Caribbean singer-songwriter from Guadeloupe whose path runs through childhood piano, vocal training, and the newer Creole music scene. Promoter and streaming profiles place his first strong exposure in the late 2000s, and the album 'Story' later took him across France, the French Caribbean, Guiana, Réunion, Mauritius, Mayotte, Madagascar, Canada, Haiti, and Miami.

His sound sits between zouk, kompa-zouk, soul, R&B, and Creole romantic balladry. He speaks to much of the same audience as Haitian kompa, especially through romance, Creole language, and collaboration. 'Péyi An Mwen', 'Premyé Fwa', 'Yalla Yalla', 'Mwen Love', and newer songs such as 'Se Ou Li Ye' and 'Parle Moi' show an artist connecting Guadeloupe, France, and Haiti without forcing the borders.

In the 2020s, Antonny Drew matters more to HMI listeners because several of his most visible moments happen through duet chemistry. 'Se Ou Li Ye' with Vanessa Désiré places his voice opposite a Haitian female voice in a conversation about love as both medicine and wound, while 'Parle Moi' keeps that emotional writing close to French, Creole, and soft arrangements.

His HMI connection also runs through work with Rutshelle Guillaume, Blondedy Ferdinand, and the ZiLE project. Antonny Drew is a reminder that kompa-zouk is not only a separated Haitian or Guadeloupean sound; it is a Creole zone where diaspora, language, and dance keep speaking to one another.
