Digital Express
kompa
Digital Express was a Haitian kompa band started by Ansyto Mercier during the digital-kompa era. In its first lineup, Lesly Guillaume ‘Patchouko’ was lead singer, alongside Ti Claudy, Adonis Cristo, and Georges Duval. The group used electronic tools that helped renew kompa, while Ansyto brought his experience as a maestro and keyboard player.
‘Digital’ remains a recording connected to the band’s legacy, and streaming catalogs place it among Digital Express’s classic kompa titles. The band is no longer active: retrospective sources describe the project ending after Ansyto left for other commitments, while keeping ‘Week-end Digital,’ ‘Plezi Vakans,’ and other songs in the memory of 1980s–1990s kompa.
