Midi Tapan
by Bourik The Latalay · 2022 · hip-hop · 2:36 · Haitian Creole, French
“Midi Tapan” is one of the recordings that brought Bourik The Latalay wider visibility within early-2020s Kreyol rap. Its official video appeared in November 2022, runs under three minutes, and uses a tight form suited to drill and street rap moving quickly through phones. The title names a precise time in the middle of the day, like an appointment or a warning. Bourik supplies energy, local language, and presence without extending the idea beyond its needs. The track’s millions of views show how far this compact statement traveled beyond its first audience.
