SEXY PENTAD kanaval 2017
by Brothers Posse · 2017 · kanaval · 8:18 · Haitian Creole, French
The kompagrooves source places Brothers Posse and Don Kato before “Sexy Pentad,” their carnival 2017 track. The title combines English with a word the data does not define, so inventing a meaning for “Pentad” would be unwarranted. Its public function is clear: eight minutes and eighteen seconds of carnival music, with time for slogans, voices, and rhythm section to make a crowd answer. Don Kato’s name must remain visible because the source puts him at the front of the video rather than in a minor note. Uploaded on February 23, 2017, in the heart of the season, the piece documents how Brothers Posse entered that year’s street competition.
