5 ETWAL
kompa
5 Etwal was a Haitian diaspora konpa band founded in Miami in 2009 by James Momplaisir, better known as Ti Lunet. Haitian Music Archive and Le Nouvelliste describe a group built around polished arrangements, melodic writing, and a band identity that took shape through two albums, "Lavi Sa!" and "New Chapter." Songs such as "My Life" and "N'ap Rewe Anko" gave the band its strongest visibility, with "My Life" becoming one of the clearest long-term markers for both 5 Etwal and Ti Lunet's public profile. Although the group no longer exists after its 2016 breakup, it remains relevant in recent konpa history as a Miami-based diaspora project that helped bridge formal band culture and the later solo trajectories of its members.
