Ayiti Twoubadou

twoubadou

Ayiti Twoubadou is an early-2000s collective project built around Haitian twoubadou sounds, not a solo performer. Pianist and producer Fabrice Rouzier, a founding member of Mizik Mizik, initiated the project. It brought together voices and musicians from different generations on a shared recording, giving twoubadou traditions new arrangements and renewed visibility.

"4 Kampé" is among the recordings most closely associated with the project. The song comes from the repertoire of Les Frères Dodo; the Ayiti Twoubadou version foregrounds Tonton Bicha and became a well-known example of humour, storytelling, and twoubadou rhythm meeting in one recording. This page therefore preserves the project as a historical collective identity rather than the discography of a single artist.
