DELLY BENSON
gospel
Delly Benson is one of the central modern voices in Haitian gospel. He was born in Cap-Haïtien on October 3, 1986, but grew up largely in Gonaïves, giving his story roots in more than one Haitian musical and religious center. Gospel-scene biographies place his childhood in church, children's choirs, and a family environment where music was present before he took composition and ministry more seriously in the early 2000s.
His story is not only that of a singer. He passed through Digicel Stars in 2007, finishing as runner-up in the first edition, then went to Port-au-Prince for studies in marketing, international relations, and theology. That helps explain why his music moves on two tracks: church discipline and worship on one side, Haitian popular circulation through radio, YouTube, events, and family spaces on the other.
His catalog shows gospel as a real part of Haitian popular listening, not a separate category. 'Mwen Kwè', 'Plis Lanmou', 'Anyo Bondye A', 'Bondye Ou Fidèl', 'Mwen Pap Negosye', 'Letenel Se ou nou genyen', 'San Jezi kouvri mwen', 'Mwen S'on Chanpyon', and 'Map Kontinye Fè w Konfyans' use repetition, vocal lift, choral response, and movement between Kreyol, French, and English to turn faith into a communal experience.
His association with Holysongs Ministries and events such as Haiti en Praises places him inside a movement where evangelical music becomes major production, major video, broad audience, and sometimes national consolation. Delly matters because he shows how Haitian gospel can remain church service while also entering public memory as music of courage, testimony, and rebuilding.
