Kreyol La officially appeared in March 2005 after several of its young musicians had already gained stage experience. The band formed around Joseph Zenny Jr., Tjo Zenny, who came out of Konpa Kreyòl before building his own group. With Hantz Fred Mercier Jr. on keyboards, Stanley Hérissé on bass, Lhomann Jean on guitar, and other musicians from the Konpa Kreyòl/Top Digital network, Kreyol La became one of the bands most closely tied to 2000s Haitian kompa.

The early years matter because they show how a young band could enter HMI's major league quickly. After the 2005 launch, Kreyol La appeared at the Haitian Compas Festival in Miami, New York's Labor Day Parade, and Port-au-Prince carnival, where Haitian press treated the band as a serious competitor to the established names. That was not only luck; it was a mix of youthful image, stage discipline, experienced musicians, and Tjo Zenny as a songwriter/entertainer who could make social subjects sound playful.

The group's strength is broader than love songs. Kreyol La knows how to hold a crowd: soft romance, keyboard-driven movement, hooks built for dancers, and carnival records that put the band back into public competition each season. 'Li Dous', 'Avwe La Verite', 'Tou Limen', 'Mwen Poko Jwenn Li', 'No Drama', 'M Pap Pale', and carnival tracks such as 'Voye m Anlè', 'Anle Anle Net', 'Gaye Kòw', and 'Tou Kale' show a band moving between living rooms, bal culture, radio, playlists, and street energy.

The albums give the story more depth. Viktwa, Evolution, Invictus, Domination, Emotion, and the Zénith live releases show a band that does not rely only on Tjo Zenny's personality, but builds a repertoire where keyboards, bass, percussion, and crowd-ready hooks work together. When Kreyol La collaborates with Rutshelle Guillaume, Fatima, Tonymix, 5Lan, or other modern voices, it keeps a link between the kompa dance-band school and the playlist generation.
