“Pawòl Tafya” comes from Boukman Eksperyans’s 1998 repertoire, although this video copy was uploaded in 2009. Its title places drink and speech on the same line, where truth, disorder, or confession may emerge once tafia loosens the tongue. Across nearly six and a half minutes, the band gathers drums, electric guitar, collective voices, and roots rhythm into a form able to criticize while maintaining movement. Boukman does not separate daily life from social questions; a popular phrase can open onto conduct, responsibility, and words released when barriers fall.
