Boko

Bòkò names a figure Haitian popular imagination has never been neutral about, and ENPOSIB take the word without explaining it. What the song does instead is put that charge inside a dance band: rhythm, theatre, a structure built for a crowd to react to in real time. Five minutes lets the storytelling actually develop rather than gesture at a subject and move on. The Montreal-based group has always worked image and band sound together, and a title this loaded is the version of that where the image arrives before the first bar.
