Defo catches ENPOSIB in a direct relationship mode, where personal flaws, pride and the need for love pull against one another and nothing resolves cleanly. The band's strength sits where it has always sat: the bass line, the drums, and a hook shaped for a crowd to answer. Nearly five minutes give that call-and-response somewhere to go. This is a Montreal band playing to Haiti and to its host country at once — Medjy Toussaint and Patrice Cavé assembled the group as students in Canada — and the double address is audible in a song built to work on a stage and on a screen.
