Kiyès Ou Ye
by J Perry · 2017 · dancehall, kompa · 4:04 · Haitian Creole, French
J Perry asks the identity question without decoration on "Kiyes Ou Ye." The official 2017 lyrics video lasts four minutes and four seconds, moving between dancehall and kompa. Its question may arise from curiosity, suspicion, or an invitation to show one's real self, but metadata supplies no scene. This page invents neither mask nor encounter. It stays with the force of second-person address: "ou" puts the question directly before somebody and refuses a general answer. Rhythm keeps moving while the words must pass beyond name, appearance, and first impression to reach the identity the title requests.
