Something going on
by Kaysha · 2008 · kompa · 4:52 · Haitian Creole, French
“Something Going On” is the earlier, shorter version of the song Kaysha later extended as a “Kompa Gouyad Extended Mix.” This entry dates to 2008, runs nearly five minutes, and appears on the artist’s channel. Kaysha is a Congolese-French singer and producer rather than a Haitian artist, but his music crosses zouk, kizomba, Afropop, and diaspora movements that repeatedly meet kompa. Hearing both versions side by side shows how one idea changes when gouyad receives more room and another production era enters the frame.
