Sa Fèm Mal keeps its cadence light while the writing sits squarely in relationship pain, and the mismatch is deliberate. A rabòday-inflected kompa that moves easily underneath a line about being hurt gives the song two speeds at once — you can dance to it without agreeing to feel nothing. Kenny Haiti's strength has always been Creole writing simple enough to hold on first hearing, and in under four minutes he does not complicate it. It went up on his channel in December 2021, a few months after Pyem Mare.
