Cheri M Direk feat. Gracia Delva
by Mass Konpa · 2019 · kompa · 4:59 · Haitian Creole
Gracia Delva had already carried Gérostar, Djakout Mizik and Zenglen before founding Mass Konpa in 2003, and Cheri M Direk is a record made by a voice with nothing left to establish. It runs on exactly that: vocal personality, a groove that stays forward, and feeling delivered without any detour. The band keeps the dance moving while he supplies the weight, which is the division of labour a kompa band of this vintage exists to perform. It went up on Christmas Eve 2019, a placement no dance band chooses by accident.
