“Cheers” takes an English word used to raise a glass, greet, or celebrate and gives Master Brain four minutes and twelve seconds of kompa. The November 2024 release has no guest in the credit, leaving the singer-producer to organize the entire moment himself. Its title might open a party, mark a victory, or conceal a more complicated feeling behind the smile; the lyrics choose. The groove makes the raised-glass gesture collective even when the voice is solo, because a “cheers” needs people to receive it.
