Fanm Chè
by Phyllisia Ross · 2021 · kompa · 3:27 · Haitian Creole, French
The source presents Steves J. Bryan and Phyllisia Ross together on “Fanm Chè,” although the catalog file assigns the entry to Phyllisia. The June 2021 official video lasts just over three minutes. Its title may address a woman as dear through affection or value, and two voices give that phrase different angles. Steves brings Creole dancehall and melodic rap; Phyllisia brings soul control, kompa, and Caribbean sensibility. The collaboration stays compact, but exchange makes the compliment sound like dialogue rather than a portrait drawn by one person.
