Ayiti Avan
by Wyclef Jean · 2024 · hip-hop, rasin · 4:12 · Haitian Creole, French
“Ayiti Avan” puts the country first in a track Wyclef Jean released in July 2024. Across four minutes and twelve seconds, hip-hop and Haitian roots music give him two tools: one for speaking directly in a global musical language, the other for keeping the message tied to Haitian memory and rhythm. The title is a position, but this page invents neither a political program nor an occasion behind it. In Wyclef's catalog, Haiti is not decoration; it is a starting point he carries through diaspora, collaborations, and many sounds.
