DROXYANI
kompa, zouk, caribbean-pop
DROXYANI is a Haitian-American duo formed by brothers Alexandre 'Dro' Martelly and Yani Martelly. They come from a family where music and public performance are already present, but the project is not only built on family inheritance. DROXYANI works in a diaspora space where kompa, zouk, afro-pop, trap, hip-hop, and Caribbean pop mix faster than traditional labels can follow.
The duo became clearer in the early 2020s with projects such as 'House Party', 'La Familia', 'Love From The Motherland', 'Limyè', and the album 'Dife'. Their sound is built for live rooms, video, diaspora parties, and playlists where young Haitians listen to both HMI and global pop. They bring dance energy, easy hooks, and an image closer to a Caribbean pop duo than to a classic large kompa band.
'40%', 'Bye Bye', 'Bay Vag', 'Lokasyon', 'Dife', 'La Familia', and the Houseparty live sessions show where DROXYANI sits: between neo-kompa, zouk mood, Caribbean pop, and a diaspora sound unafraid of English, French, Creole, or Afro influences. The duo is not necessarily defending one genre; it shows how a new generation experiences music as a natural blend.
DROXYANI matters to the collection because it gives a current picture of Haitian music circulating in the United States and other diaspora centers. The project does not replace the major HMI bands, but it shows another path: brotherhood, showmanship, playlist culture, live sessions, and Caribbean pop that keeps the Haitian connection.
