Bay Vag
by DROXYANI · 2022 · kompa · 4:08 · Haitian Creole, French
“Bay Vag” places brothers Alexandre “Dro” and Yani Martelly inside a Haitian Creole phrase asking someone to let a matter go. DROXYANI published the official video in 2022, and the track holds its form to just over four minutes. They come from the Haitian diaspora in the United States, where kompa, zouk, Afropop, trap, and Caribbean pop cross without rigid borders. The hook is easy to retain, but the project does not follow the large HMI orchestra model; it chooses image, brotherly energy, and a sound designed for video, playlists, and stage.
