JBeatz

JBeatz is the stage name of Jean Robert Pluviose, a Haitian-American musician who works as producer, recording engineer, composer, arranger, and singer. HMI sources often describe him as an artist with many roles: he plays, programs, mixes, writes, and can move from the studio console to the microphone. That multi-role background is a major reason his sound occupies a distinct place in diaspora kompa.

His musical story starts early. Born in the Arcahaie area of Haiti and shaped between Haiti and the United States, he came through church music, classical piano, guitar, bass, drums, and percussion. Older profiles stress how technically he listened to music even as a young musician: stereo, arrangement, rhythm, and the place of each instrument. Before many listeners knew him as a singer, JBeatz already mattered as a producer.

During the 2000s and early 2010s, his name circulated widely in HMI, especially in the Florida diaspora. He worked on projects connected to Gabel, Alan Cavé, Kenny Desmangles, Carimi, Nu-Look, T-Vice, Zenglen, Kreyòl La, Harmonik, Black Dada, and other modern kompa figures. 'Koute Kè M', 'All I Need Is You', 'De la Tête aux Pieds', and remixes such as 'Depi'm Wè'w' show how his production work helped shape club and radio-facing HMI during that period.

When he stepped forward as a singer with Our Own World in 2011, he took a different kind of risk: he was no longer only placing beats behind other voices, but putting his own voice at the center. That opened a solo catalog where kompa, zouk love, R&B, and diaspora club music meet. 'Ann Poze', released on the 2026 album Monotone with ZiLE, shows the current version of JBeatz: still thinking like a producer, but using melody and vocals to make relationship songs that can live inside today's Top 40.
