Detronpew
by Blondedy Ferdinand · 2021 · kompa · 5:35 · Haitian Creole, French
Blondedy Ferdinand released “Detwonpe w” through her own channel in September 2021. The title orders someone to correct an idea, as if saying: you are wrong about me, look again. Across more than five and a half minutes, kompa gives that answer voice, melody, and cadence without hurrying its boundary. Blondedy brings a visual and vocal presence where confidence matters as much as feeling. The track does not ask its speaker to explain herself endlessly; once the title delivers the correction, performance shows how she chooses to present her own value.
