KONSYANS | Haiti Kanaval 2022
by Boukman Eksperyans · 2022 · rasin · 5:44 · Haitian Creole, French
For the 2022 carnival season, Boukman Eksperyans chose “Konsyans” as its title. The word suits a band that has long connected roots music with questions of power, dignity, and collective life. Across nearly six minutes, drums, group singing, and an electric-band force have room to develop within a carnival format. Released on the band's official channel in February 2022, the video preserves Boukman's familiar use of the season as a place for dancing and reflection at the same time.
