Baby I Missed You feat. Mikaben
by Carimi · 2014 · kompa · 5:16 · Haitian Creole, English
Baby I Missed You brings Carimi and Mikaben into a major HMI romance where nostalgia, gentle vocals and band groove keep the song alive more than a decade on. It belongs to the Nasty Biznis period, when the trio of Carlo Vieux, Richard Cavé and Mickael Guirand had settled into a tighter kompa arrangement and a plainer way of writing about relationships. Hearing it now is unavoidably double: a record made by a band that no longer exists, with a guest voice Haitian audiences have since placed permanently in memory rather than in the present.
