Bag La
by Djakout #1 · 2017 · kompa · 4:41 · Haitian Creole, French
“Bag La” carries Djakout #1’s signature as a djaz lari able to bring stage energy into a studio recording. The official kompagrooves video dates to 2017 and lasts a little under five minutes. Its compact title acts like a sign the audience can shout, while Pouchon and the orchestra give the kompa the collective force built since the Djakout Mizik era. The track does not need an overly polished arrangement to work; movement, voices, and the feeling of a band speaking to its public keep it alive.
