Confusion
by Djapot · 2022 · kompa · 5:46 · Haitian Creole, French
“Confusion” places Djapot opposite Esther Surpris’s voice in a kompa performance lasting nearly six minutes. The official video title credits her directly, an important detail for a band that uses dialogue between male and female voices to give relationship stories greater depth. Published on Esther Surpris’s channel in 2022, the track became one of the largest YouTube gateways into Djapot’s repertoire. Its dance rhythm does not erase the feeling named in the title; uncertainty travels alongside a cadence that remains supple and sustained.
