Maturite
by Harmonik · 2024 · kompa, kompa-gouyad · 5:07 · Haitian Creole, French
Harmonik calls this track “Maturite,” and the band’s channel published it in February 2022 although the catalog year reads 2024. The title places emotional growth forward, a natural subject for a band that built much of its repertoire around relationships and romantic kompa. Across more than five minutes, voice, keyboards, and gouyad take time to measure change rather than hurry a declaration. Maturity sounds like something shown in how people act and love, not an age they merely reach.
