Kenny Haiti released “Tonbe” at the start of January 2023, over a meeting of kompa and rabòday lasting three minutes and twenty seconds. One verb immediately creates questions: who falls, into what, and is it accident or surrender? Kenny regularly uses Creole phrases that catch easily in hooks, placing pop melody over rhythms able to move from romance to dance. No long title is needed to make motion visible. Voice carries the emotional consequence while cadence gives the body its own way to answer the fall.
