Peye M
by Kreyol La · 2021 · kompa · 5:06 · Haitian Creole, French
Peye M is track four on Emotion, Kreyol La's 2021 album, and knowing its place in the running order changes how you hear it: a fourth track has neither to open nor to close anything, so it can take its time. That is what the band does — romance and gouyad inside a kompa frame with room to breathe. Five minutes six. On an album, length is something you can give a song because its neighbours are doing the other work.
