Mawozo

Mawozo describes someone unrefined, rough around the edges — it is not a compliment. Oswald takes the word and sings it in his softest voice over a kompa-zouk bed, and the contradiction is the whole interest: a tender confession carrying a title someone would use to put you down. Four minutes three, released as a lyrics video in March 2022. When a singer accepts the word instead of defending himself against it, the song stops being a defence and becomes an admission.
