Nu Look, Mea Culpa
by Nu-Look · 2023 · kompa · 5:55 · Haitian Creole, French
“Mea Culpa” places Nu-Look in the position of someone acknowledging fault, an important turn for a band accustomed to singing accusation, jealousy, and pride. Arly Larivière published the official video in 2023, and the performance takes nearly six minutes to settle its confession over kompa. The Latin title travels through French and Haitian Creole as an admission understood without lengthy explanation. Bass remains gentle enough for dancing, but Arly’s voice preserves the words’ gravity, preventing the apology from losing weight inside the arrangement.
