100 Verites
by Baky Popile · 2018 · hip-hop · 3:07 · Haitian Creole, French
“100 Verites” is a lyrics video Baky Popilè released in 2018, lasting three minutes and seven seconds. The number one hundred in the title promises quantity or completeness, but the record provides no list of truths for this page to repeat. What can be established is the form: solo hip-hop, visible words, and the voice of a rapper who centers Kreyòl writing. The track predates the brief “Viv Ansanm” by five years and takes more than twice as long to sustain Baky's presence without guests or a large band.
