Sikatris means scar — the mark left once a wound has healed. Baky Popile writes here as a rapper of memory and collective injury, and six minutes eighteen gives him room to hurry over none of it. T-Jo Zenny, who came out of Konpa Kreyòl and founded Kreyol La, enters as a different kind of authority: a bandleader's voice giving a rap record another sort of weight. Released in December 2015, some years before VID, it shows the severity was there early.
