Barikad Kanaval 2015 Toutouni
by Barikad Crew · 2015 · kanaval, rabòday · 5:32 · Haitian Creole, French
For carnival 2015, Barikad Crew brought “Toutouni,” a title that removes the covers and puts exposure up front. In carnival language, that idea can provoke, make a joke, or tell an unadorned truth. The track combines carnival and rabòday, giving the group’s rap a fast push designed for the street and the crowd. Five minutes and thirty-two seconds leave enough time for its slogans to enter public voices. Fred Hype’s video marks it as the official HD version and appeared during the season on February 9, 2015. This is Barikad Crew in a fully public mode, where words, bodies, and rhythm are not kept hidden.
