Nèg Vanyan'm
by Fatima · 2019 · kompa, zouk · 3:43 · Haitian Creole, French
“Nèg Vanyan'm” appeared in 2019, the same year as Fatima Altieri's debut album, Enspirasyon. The song places her soft voice between kompa and zouk, while its Kreyòl title assigns a clear quality to the man being addressed: courage. The official video runs three minutes and forty-three seconds, long enough for the melody to develop without stretching. Within a catalog where love songs often concern protection, hurt, and self-worth, this recording takes a more directly affirmative approach.
