Fatima

kompa, zouk

Fatima Altieri, known musically as Fatima, was born in Port-au-Prince on September 20, 1993 and grew through church, music, modeling, television, and performance. Music profiles trace her first wider exposure to Digicel Stars at age 17 after singing at the Baptist Church of Juvénat, and place her 2019 debut album 'Enspirasyon' as a step toward a broader repertoire.

She is part of the modern Haitian pop-kompa lane where voice, image, collaboration, and video presence all matter. She brings a soft vocal color to kompa, zouk, R&B, and Caribbean pop, often using love songs to explore hurt, protection, self-worth, and relationships that leave a mark.

'Hello' and 'Nan Dlo' are two key points in her catalog. Writing about 'Hello' emphasizes its melancholy tone and the way it speaks to people coming out of false love; 'Nan Dlo', with Oswald, appears on the 2024 album 'Pwoteje m' and has become one of her most visible HMI collaborations on YouTube and on stage. 'Pwoteje m' also carries personal meaning: in the Chokarella interview, Fatima speaks about needing protection, the pressure around her first album, and the distance she needed before returning more fully to her creative work.

Her catalog matters because it shows how women in current HMI move between solo identity, duet chemistry, visual presentation, and hooks built for online circulation. The Live à l'Olympia videos add another dimension: Fatima is not only a studio voice, but a performer who can carry hurt and softness in front of a diaspora audience.
