Li Konn Gouye
by Gabel · 2022 · kompa · 4:42 · Haitian Creole, French
Gabel invites Oswald and Roody Delpe onto “Li Konn Gouye,” an official video released in September 2022. Its title praises or notices someone’s ability to dance gouyad, and more than four and a half minutes of kompa give all three presences room to make that movement central. Gabel brings clear hooks and its Miami kompa love sound; Oswald adds Saint Martin and zouk-gouyad color; Roody Delpe completes the shared credit. No complicated story is needed. The body’s response to cadence is the subject, and the arrangement supplies proof.
