Jou Dega
by Medjy · 2023 · kompa, rnb · 4:12 · Haitian Creole, French
Medjy released Jou Dega and Soperiye on the same day, 17 May 2023, both as lyrics videos. Putting two tracks out together in the same format is a way of saying they belong to one piece of work, and hearing them back to back shows two sides of the same voice. This is the wounded-romance side: controlled phrasing that makes a text-led track feel intimate rather than static. Four minutes twelve, and the control is what keeps the hurt from turning into complaint.
