Ekilib Lavi
by Orchestre Septentrional · 2021 · kompa · 7:25 · Haitian Creole, French
“Ekilib Lavi” gives Orchestre Septentrional seven minutes and twenty-five seconds to consider life's balance without stopping kompa from dancing. The title places two forces in front: balance requires measure while life keeps changing. A big orchestra makes that idea audible when horns, voices, bass, guitar, and drums find their places without covering one another. The 2021 track need not give one moral lesson; the lyrics carry details. The arrangement itself demonstrates the idea because Septent's sound depends on several generations and instruments maintaining collective balance.
