I Ka Bon
by Steves J. Bryan · 2022 · dancehall · 2:53 · Haitian Creole, French
Steves J. Bryan released “I Ka Bon” as an official video in July 2022. Its title is short and easy to repeat, leaving dancehall performance to carry more attitude than an explanation could. In under three minutes, Steves uses a voice able to move among rap, melody, and rhythmic accent over a beat built to enter quickly. The compact form fits streaming-era music: an idea need not stretch when hook, cadence, and artist presence already give it enough force to circulate.
