Pouvwa
by Steves J. Bryan · 2018 · dancehall · 3:26 · Haitian Creole, French
Steves J. Bryan released “Pouvwa” as an official video in April 2018. The title names the ability to act, influence, or maintain control, a natural subject in dancehall where vocal presence and attitude matter. Across three minutes and twenty-six seconds, Steves uses delivery that moves between rap and melody to make power audible as performance rather than abstraction. The beat gives him space to claim position. Each vocal accent acts as proof that musical authority must be felt in the body as much as understood through words.
