Baby Girl ft. Leto
by Joé Dwèt Filé · 2022 · zouk · 3:28 · Haitian Creole, French
Leto brings French rap to "Baby Girl," while Joé Dwèt Filé holds the melodic center of the 2022 zouk single. Its English title, French passages, and cataloged Creole allow three language codes to circulate within one recording. Three minutes and twenty-eight seconds make room for rap without breaking the refrain. Joé again brings his Haitian family's kompa and zouk background into contact with French urban rap through a concise pop form.
