Egoïste ft. Singuila
by Joé Dwèt Filé · 2020 · zouk · 3:11 · Haitian Creole, French
Singuila enters "Egoïste" with his own standing in Francophone song and Caribbean music. That makes Joé Dwèt Filé's 2020 single a genuine vocal meeting, not merely a guest name on the billing. The title announces selfishness as its subject, while the zouk cadence keeps the exchange easy on the ear. At just over three minutes, the contrast between the two voices does more work than a heavily layered arrangement would have done.
