Ma Chérie
by Naïka · 2021 · chanson · 3:28 · Haitian Creole, French
"Ma Chérie" takes an intimate route through Naïka's catalog. The 2021 recording runs just over three minutes and places her voice ahead of a light arrangement. Its use of Creole and French fits an artist whose life and music have moved among several countries and cultures. Rather than leaning on a full kompa-band sound, the song uses a chanson frame, allowing Caribbean warmth to come through in the melody and in Naïka's close, conversational delivery.
