Confession
by Nu-Look · 2008 · kompa · 5:45 · Haitian Creole, French
Confession is from 2008, but the video only reached YouTube in 2014, six years later, and not through the band's channel — through kompagrooves. That is how a great deal of pre-YouTube kompa arrived on the platform: not via the artists, but via the channels that were archiving them. The song itself is Nu-Look in the territory Arly Larivière built the group for in 2000: refined, intimate kompa, away from the carnival lane, with a melody that carries the confession without raising its voice. Five minutes forty-five.
