Marasa
by RAM · 2016 · rasin · 8:20 · Haitian Creole, French
“Marasa” enters directly into sacred Vodou vocabulary, where twins hold a spiritual place that cannot be reduced to a casual image. RAM published this recording through its channel in 2016 and gives drums, chants, vaksen horns, guitar, bass, and rock force more than eight minutes to coexist. Lunise and Richard Morse have long allowed ceremonial rhythms to breathe inside an electric-band form. This title asks for the same respect: the music can reach stage and internet, but its roots remain in an older Haitian religious and cultural memory.
