Grenn
by Roody Roodboy · 2023 · kompa, dancehall · 4:13 · Haitian Creole, French
“Grenn” appeared on Roody Roodboy's channel only three weeks after “Kokoye” in 2023, but it chooses a different structure. There is no five-guest lineup in the title. One word and Roody's own voice center the four-minute track. Kompa and dancehall still share its record, two areas where he moves among melody, urban language, and party energy. The close release dates make the songs useful contrasts: one is a large gathering, while the other relies on his solo identity.
