MANCHranco Love & Deep Act
by Roody Roodboy · 2019 · kompa, dancehall · 4:18 · Haitian Creole, French
The catalog title runs the names together, but Roody Roodboy’s source separates them clearly: “MANCH” is a collaboration featuring Franco Love and Deep Act. This 2019 track places kompa and dancehall in the same space, a fitting intersection for an artist who moves through Haitian pop, rap, and party rhythms without losing his street phrasing. Four minutes and eighteen seconds give all three presences time to share the recording. Rather than invent a meaning for the title’s abbreviation, the useful point is how the collective billing works: the lead artist opens the door, the guests alter the color, and the rhythm keeps the piece together.
