Baz Mwen
by Steves J. Bryan · 2021 · dancehall · 3:55 · Haitian Creole, French
“Baz Mwen” places Steves J. Bryan inside a group he claims as his own. “Baz” can mean close friends, team, neighborhood, or a network standing together, but the metadata names no members. The lyric video appeared on the artist’s channel in 2021 and runs three minutes and fifty-five seconds. Its dancehall classification gives the statement speed and attitude, while the lyric format brings group language forward. Such a title can thank the people who remain present, but it may also draw a line between inside and outside. The page invents no friend list or loyalty story. It stays with “my,” which makes community personal without making the artist its only important member.
