Yon Lot feat. Rutshelle Guillaume
by Vanessa Desire · 2021 · kompa, rnb · 4:48 · Haitian Creole
Yon Lòt puts two singers who are normally the only lead voice on their own records inside one story. Vanessa Désiré and Rutshelle Guillaume carry pride, hurt and decision between them, and the conversation works because neither gives way to the other. That is what makes the four minutes forty-eight matter: two HMI vocal sensibilities in direct dialogue, not a guest filling a verse. It went up in May 2021 on Désiré's channel, and the title — someone else — is what the whole argument is about.
